Attorney-General and stated that he was mxious to sever SŤ

what remained of his connection with the Siemens combination,

and that he was willing that the local company should be

wound up. For obvious personal reasons he would prefer that the company should be voluntarily wound up, and I saw no reason for refusing to consent to a voluntary winding up on

the terms set out in the letter referred to in the first

paragraph of this Despatch.

As appears from my Despatch quoted above, the position hitherto has not been quite satisfactory, but the payment of the net assets to the Custodian will place under the control of the Government the proceeds of the property which formerly belonged to the Siemens China Company, and it appears to me that this will provide a satisfactory solution of the problem.

The name of an Associated Chartered Accountant in a well known local English firm of accountants and estate agents has been submitted to me and I have approved of his appointment as liquidator.

6.

I should explain that the correct name

of the company is the Siemens China Electrical Engineering Company (Hongkong) Limited.
